When Google released its new camera app, it took the now common approach of revamping the UI and removing a number of features in the process. Little by little, those things will come back (just like with Maps), and that’s the theme of today’s v2.2 Google Camera update.
What’s New
- Choice of full frame or cropped pictures (4:3 vs 16:9 on the Nexus 5)
- New splash screen for cropping selection
- Picture timer (3 and 10 second options)
- Tiny settings icon now indicated by UI popup on first run
- New panorama options – fisheye and wide angle
Be aware, the choice of cropping will affect total resolution.
